04 | April Update
Crafting, baking, traveling, my monthly playlist, what I'm reading, and other obsessions & hyper-fixations for April!
Writing to you from my sunroom drinking a hibiscus tea while there are various half-started-no-where-near-finished paper crafts scattered all around me on every surface!!! And I’m right where I want to be, ty for asking. Let’s talk what I’ve been up to, what I’ve been making, and what I’m hyper-fixating on this month.
Honestly lately I have been feeling inspired to start making videos about my baking & crafting and maybe even some how-to’s?! Stay tuned if I muster up the courage, posting is scary sometimes. Also do I have what it takes to post consistently? I don’t know!!! We will see.

April arts & crafts:
Junk journaling — I am SO GOOD at collecting and hoarding trash and junk like a little raccoon for my journal, but carving out the time to glue down the junk in said journal is a challenge. But I managed to make some time and created a little spread with a few mementos from the weekend of my engagement! More deets on that in my March update in case you missed it:

Collaging — I’m back on collaging after too long of a time thanks to an ATL Craft Club event I went to! This was a ticketed event where we were given all the supplies we needed to make our own collages! It kickstarted my love of collaging all over again after not doing it for at least a couple years.

Cake decorating — another ATL Craft Club workshop I attended where we were provided our own mini cake and an Atlanta local baker came out and showed us how to decorate our cakes, including piping techniques. This was great practice as I try to branch out of my cookie comfort zone and into cakes!

Press on nails — made a cutie little light green almond set for myself this month
Paper chains — my bestie’s birthday is coming up in May so I got a head start on making some paper chains as decor for her party! Making these has been super therapeutic and made me feel like a kid again. I’ve also gotten started on some star garlands which are not quite assembled, so more to come on these in a later post!

Other things I was up to this month:
Potluck picnic in the park — I met some girly pops from the first big bake sale I did last month and we decided to get together in a park for a potluck picnic! We decided to surprise each other and just follow our baking instincts to make anything that was speaking to us. I made scones for the first time and we ended up with 3 variations of scones and biscuits, but they were all so different and no one dare complained about having too many carbs!! Honestly my scones tasted great for it being my first time but they were NOT cute. They spread a ton and flopped over while baking, but you know what they came out golden brown and flakey so who cares!!! I paired them with an assortment of Bonne Maman mini jam spreads so everyone got to pick their favorite flavor and take one home.

Traveled to Boston — Elijah and I went to Boston for a wedding but extended our trip to explore the city since neither of us had been before! We loved it and had a great time there, would love to go back. Here’s what we did:
Fenway Park tour
Museum of Fine Arts (there was a WHOLE room of Monet!)
Public Gardens & Boston Commons
Freedom Trail
Ate at Bar Volpe, The Eastern Standard, The Beehive, and Tatte Bakery
Saw a queen in the park with two pigeons on her hand, a squirrel latched on to her jacket, surrounded by more ducks, pigeons, and squirrels giving her their undivided attention (for her food, but still). I hope she is doing well and knows how jealous I am of this power she harnesses.

April obsessions & hyper-fixations:
Artemis II — the tears I have cried over this group of strangers that worked together to take a trip around the moon and safely return back home had me on my KNEES. So much so that, amid my luteal phase this month, I wrote a little something about how it might feel to see the Earth from space. Can you imagine?! I fell down a rabbit hole researching this phenomenon and accounts from other astronauts.
This little bunny that hangs out around my house! I love her and how comfortable she is here — she makes herself at right at home around us!

What I’m reading:
I finished Little One by Olivia Muenter and loved it!!! It came out earlier this year and it was not what I expected, but in the best way. It was thrilling and the end had me questioning everything I had just read, which I loved. Would def recommend.
For my Q2 Quarterly Classic, I will be reading The Great Gatsby! The Quarterly Classic is my series where I close read a classic novel once a quarter and write a review, thoughts, and additional research about it. My first one from Q1 this year was Wuthering Heights in case you missed it!
Monthly playlist:
Continuing with my love of playlist creation, here are my most listened to songs for April! The monthly playlist is made up of new songs I find or old ones I have on repeat to go back and remember this time of my life I spent listening to them — I find it such a powerful way to access memories and emotions!
What are you into? Any long-standing or new crafts, hobbies, or hyper-fixations? What are you reading or listening to? Tell me everything.

Love this! ☺️ Your beautiful photos and crafts made me smile, glad you’ve had a lovely month 💗
I love love your monthly wrap-ups!! You should definitely make how-to videos
